Joe,
Str is short for storrelse in Danish, which simply means size (hook size in this case).
Hope this helps.

I'm very impressioned by yours full dressed claassic salmon flies! I never seen perfection in ever little particolares like this ones. Simply the best that i've seen so far! best regards.

I have had success yanking motors from microwave ovens - the motor that turns the turntable works very nice and they can be had for free at the transfer station (aka: junkyard). The only advantage/disadvantage is mounting will vary and you will have images of bacon rather than disco sartorial nightmares.

I have been flyfishing for about three years and most of that time I have fished dry flies, Just this year I started fishing wet flies and I have enjoyed it tremendously and have had some good luck. I hope other unseasoned flyfisherman like myself give it a try.

Martin, thanks for your answer. I have had an oppurtunity to see danish DVD about mullet, so it had to be good fight on 5-6 rod. Thanks for the image of the fly, it is really interesting to use tube body for such kind of fly.

Wow! Thanks for the beauty. There's no doubt that trout inspire us to keep nature as clean as possible and to make the most of our time here. It's so great seeing the love for these creatures bringing out the best in us. This fellow has a true gift, and I appreciate gff for the introduction.

Pike,
Thanks!
I used a green (chartreuse) tube fly, which I had tied up the same afternoon I had a lot of strikes on that fly. I fished it on a 9' 5-6 wt. rod.
I will attach another image that shows the fly.

Fujioka's art on the website "Trouts and Seasons of the Mountain Streams," is truly amazing. His images are captivating and the descriptions accompanying them read like poetry. Being a poet and conservationist myself I was deeply moved by his perspective and found myself right by his side fishing and observing nature in the beautiful Japanese countryside. This is great site, especially if you are at home or in the office and want to get away for a few minutes and renew your spirit.

Mr. Fellin,
Your article is one of the best I've read; being in the military, I do a lot more reading than casting. Your instruction and descriptions of the art of fly fishing and just being in the great outdoors bring me right back out there. I've often dreamt of fishing Montana; this article has brought me one step closer. Thank you.

[quote:456914c79a="hares ear"]Hi Niall,
I think your better off weighing the shooting head and trimming it in small slices. You should try to get access to a scale as chemists use them and work vs. the AFTMA table. Once you get close to the right weight string on the head and try it.
